My research interests include merchant shipping and smuggling along the Channel Coast and the Bay of Biscay. In particular, how merchants of both England and her territories in the Gironde contrived to smuggle goods through the net of the official tax systems. Lately I have been working on an interactive map of the medieval world for use with Google Earth.
